🗣 Conversation Starters — for care activities and family time

  • Tell us about a Christmas you remember.
  • Is there a Christmas decoration or treat that has stayed in your memory?
  • Has the way people mark this occasion changed since you were a child?
  • What do you enjoy most at this time of year?
What is Christmas like in Japan?

Christmas falls on December 25 and marks the birth of Jesus Christ. In Japan it is celebrated mostly as a seasonal event rather than a religious one: Santa Claus, Christmas cake and street illuminations are the parts people picture first, and reindeer turn up on cards and shop windows all through December.

Can this coloring page be used for care-home activities?

Yes. Reindeer make an easy conversation starter in reminiscence-style sessions. Did you ever ask Santa for a present? What did Christmas at home look like when the family was all together? Sharing those memories while coloring keeps the conversation going.

Any tips for a neat, polished result?

Work from the largest areas first and save the fine details for last. If you go over a line, a white correction pen can tidy it up. With colored pencils, layering lets you control how light or deep each shade looks.
