How old is Dogo Onsen?
Dogo Onsen, in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, is regarded as one of the oldest hot springs in Japan and is mentioned in the Nihon Shoki chronicle and the Manyoshu poetry anthology. Prince Shotoku and Emperor Jomei are said to have bathed here, and its history is sometimes described as spanning more than 3,000 years.
