Why do rabbits have such long ears?
A rabbit’s long ears help it hear distant sounds and detect predators early. The ears are also full of blood vessels, letting the rabbit regulate its body temperature by moving them — spreading the ears wide helps release heat on a hot day.

What do rabbits eat?
Rabbits are herbivores that eat hay (such as timothy grass), vegetables, and pellet food. Because their digestive system is delicate, careful diet management matters. Rabbits also practice ‘cecotrophy’ — eating some of their own droppings — which lets them reabsorb nutrients from their gut.
